The Dreame H14 Pro was launched by the manufacturer on September 6, 2024 in Europe. It’s a top-of-the-range upright vacuum cleaner offering excellent suction and floor cleaning performance. With 18,000 pascal of suction power and motorized wheels, it offers impeccable cleaning on paper, but let’s see in this full test what it’s really worth.
Elegant, sophisticated design
The Dreame H14 Pro is a vacuum cleaner with an undeniably polished look. Indeed, this model is very well designed and quite different from previous models I’ve tested, such as the Dreame H12 Pro. On the handle, there’s a button to start it, and another to change the cleaning mode.
With this, there’s a switch to activate or deactivate the diffusion of cleaning solution in the floor cleaning system. The cleaning solution is supplied by the manufacturer, but in a small can that won’t last very long. You’ll soon have to buy more. The advantage is that you can choose whether or not to use it. On the back of the handle is the button for automatic cleaning.
Further down, you’ll find the Dreame H14 Pro’s decent screen, which gives you a visual indication of the device’s settings and charge level. It’s not the screen of the Tineco S7 Switch, but it’s still very decent.
Further down, on the front, is the clean water tank. This holds 880 mL of water, which is very decent. Just above this is a small hatch for adding the cleaning solution supplied by the manufacturer.
Turning to the other side of the machine, you’ll find the dirty water tank. This has a capacity of 650 mL, enabling waste water to be collected for an entire cleaning cycle. It must be emptied regularly, however, as it collects dirt and dirty water, a cocktail that tends to smell bad if you don’t empty it after each cleaning session.
Finally, the lower part consists of the brush, which can of course be removed, but also the motorized wheels. The latter are very practical for self-propelling the appliance, both forwards and backwards. They feature a serrated rubber finish, ensuring good grip on wet floors after the Dreame H14 Pro has been through them. Let’s hope they perform better than those on the Roborock Flexi Pro, which would be no luxury.
The Dreame H14 Pro is very well designed, and it’s easy to see that it’s a top-of-the-range device in terms of design and attention to detail.
A number of accessories are supplied with the device, namely:
- An additional cleaning roller
- An additional filter
- Duct cleaning brush
- A bottle of cleaning solution
Regarding the latter, I recommend you buy a second one right away on the Dreame website or on Amazon / AliExpress, as the bottle supplied is small.

Excellent suction performance
With a suction power of 18,000 Pa, very little dirt on the floor can resist it. What I also like – and I’ll come back to this in the section dedicated to washing – is that the roller efficiently cleans edges, which is particularly useful for skirting boards.
The vast majority of dirt on the floor is sucked into the machine. However, you won’t be able to suck up everything with it, as with conventional upright vacuums like the Ecovacs T30S Combo, so don’t try to put anything in there that won’t fit. All you’ll get is a blockage of the object in question in the suction duct.
Finally, it’s important to note that, like all machines of this type, once the floor is wet, it can miss some dirt and dust. That’s why I use this kind of appliance more as a mop than as a simple vacuum cleaner.
What I also appreciate here is the unit’s 180° flexibility, enabling it to clean efficiently even under furniture. A small castor is provided for this purpose, enabling it to be placed completely on the floor and moved forward completely flat.
Perfect floor cleaning
Floor cleaning with the Dreame H14 Pro is a pleasure. Admittedly, it doesn’t steam clean, but there’s no need to. Its performance is very good, and its efficiency is truly convincing.
An important point to note is the device’s two-sided edge cleaning, which means you can clean the edges of skirting boards without too much hassle. Admittedly, it won’t be 100% perfect, and you’ll sometimes have to use a small hand brush, but no vacuum cleaner will offer you totally perfect cleaning. It is, however, among the top performers in this field.
The Dreame H14 Pro automatically detects dirt and increases roller speed for the most effective cleaning possible. The user also has the option of manually increasing the unit’s cleaning power, via a button on the handle.
Last but not least, the roller is washed and dried. The roller is washed after each cleaning cycle, but it’s up to the user to press the relevant button on the top of the handle. Once this is done, the station dries the roller with hot air, offering two choices:
- Ultra-fast drying in 5 minutes
- Silent drying in 1 hour
I find ultra-fast drying more efficient, and at least it’s done! The only drawback is that it will be noisier than the 1-hour drying option.
Autonomy of the Dreame H14 Pro
The Dreame H14 Pro’s autonomy is rated at 40 minutes maximum. In automatic mode, it can last up to 35 minutes, but this depends on how dirty the floor is. If you have a lot of stains on the floor and the vacuum cleaner detects them, switching to higher power, then you’ll need to reckon on slightly shorter autonomy.
When set to maximum performance, autonomy drops to around 16 minutes, which isn’t much, but the Dreame H14 Pro gives all the power it has for optimal cleaning. In minimum mode, it’s decent for cleaning, and you get around 40 minutes of autonomy. In any case, I recommend automatic mode on this model.
DreameHome application
The appliance can be controlled via the DreameHome app, in which you can add all the brand’s appliances. Here, all you need to do is connect to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, and add the Dreame H14 Pro in the application settings.
To configure the device, scan the QR-Code on the back. Next, the application guides you, first signaling to activate the Wi-Fi connection with the button on the back of the device.
Once you’ve pressed this button for three seconds and heard the Wi-Fi connection signal, you can continue with the configuration. The device connects to the app and to your smartphone, then comes an update, which I recommend you do.
Once this has been done, you can access the device’s settings. The Dreame H14 Pro is fairly straightforward, but still quite complete in this respect.
It’s possible to start automatic cleaning and drying directly from the app, so if you’ve forgotten to do this before you leave, it’s always handy. Then there are the cleaning modes, with either customized cleaning, with your own settings, or pre-configured settings. Automatic cleaning can be activated, and the vacuum cleaner will then wash its roller after each storage on its base, without any action on your part.
Automatic drying can also be activated, or programmed at certain times. This is a practical feature, but I don’t really see the point.
However, you can choose the drying mode, either ultra-fast or silent.
As for detergent dosage, you can choose a smart dosage, or a high dosage for stubborn stains.
Likewise, wheel speed can be set, but we note that the translation here isn’t great. To put it simply:
- Light: slow speed
- Balanced: medium speed
- Strong: fast speed
The vacuum cleaner’s voice can also be deactivated or adjusted in terms of volume. In all cases, the Dreame H14 Pro can speak to you in French, which we agree is more convenient.
Finally, there’s the menu for using the accessories, with the maintenance to be carried out from time to time. The filter and brush are rated for 60 hours.
Don’t change them after this time, unless they’ve really deteriorated. However, a cleaning is certainly in order, and you’re back to business as usual.
Dreame H14 Pro: Reviews
The Dreame H14 Pro convinced me on many points. In particular, its 180° tilting side for cleaning under furniture, which I admit is very practical. The screen is pretty and clearly detailed, cleaning performance is good and so is autonomy, and I also appreciate the ultra-fast 5-minute drying time of the roller. Even if it’s a bit noisy, at least it doesn’t take 2 hours.
