ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) hosted an exclusive “Ahead of the Game” event during Gamescom 2024, where the brand presented a diverse range of new gaming products. Among the new products are motherboards optimized for artificial intelligence (AI) with the AMD X870E/X870 chipset, an AIO cooler, new gaming peripherals, 26.5-inch OLED QHD monitors, several WiFi 7 networking solutions, as well as two high-end power supplies. These products are designed to meet the performance and connectivity needs of gamers.
Motherboards: optimized for AI and performance
Asus has introduced new X870E/X870 motherboards, compatible with AMD’s Ryzen™ 9000 Series processors, based on Zen 5 architecture. The range includes several models suitable for different skill levels and budgets, including the ROG Crosshair X870E Hero, the ROG Strix X870E-E Gaming WiFi, X870-F Gaming WiFi, X870-A Gaming WiFi, as well as the TUF Gaming X870-Plus WiFi, Prime X870-P WiFi and ProArt X870E-Creator WiFi.
These motherboards incorporate advanced features such as AI overclocking, Dynamic OC Switcher and Core Flex, designed to maximize the performance of Ryzen processors in a variety of workloads. NitroPath DRAM technology, featured on selected models, optimizes DRAM signal paths for greater stability. All motherboards in the range support the ASUS Enhanced Memory Profile (AEMP), as well as the latest connectivity technologies, including USB4, PCIe 5.0, and WiFi 7.
New 360 mm watercooling
Asus also unveiled the AIO ROG Ryujin III 360 ARGB Extreme cooler, designed to improve CPU cooling efficiency. This model features an Emma Gen8 V2 pump and an integrated VRM fan for improved component cooling.
Chainable ARGB fans facilitate cable management and provide optimum airflow. A 3.5″ LCD screen, customizable via Armoury Crate, displays real-time system information or customized content.
Gaming peripherals: new keyboards, mice and headsets
The event was also an opportunity for Asus to launch a new range of gaming peripherals, including keyboards, mice and a headset. The ROG Falchion Ace HFX keyboard, with its compact 65% form factor, and the ROG Strix Scope II 96 RX Wireless, offering tri-mode connectivity, are designed to maximize desktop space while delivering fast performance thanks to high polling rates and optimized switches.
The ROG Harpe Ace Mini mouse and the new Moonlight White version of the ROG Strix Impact III Wireless are designed for gamers looking for lightweight, responsive peripherals. The ROG Pelta gaming headset offers an ergonomic design with extended battery life for extended gaming sessions.
Monitors: two new OLED QHD models
ASUS has introduced two new 26.5-inch OLED gaming monitors with QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution. The ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDP is the first 1440p OLED monitor offering a 480 Hz refresh rate, while the ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDNG offers a 360 Hz rate with a QD-OLED panel.
Both monitors incorporate motion blur reduction technologies and feature the new OLED Care+ system to extend the life of the panel. A software program, DisplayWidget Center, allows users to customize display settings directly from their PC.
Network: Wi-Fi 7 in abundance
To enhance network connectivity, ASUS has introduced several WiFi 7-compatible products, including the ROG Rapture GT-BE19000 gaming router and the ASUS RT-BE86U router. These devices are designed to offer high connection speeds and low latency, crucial for online gaming and streaming. A new WiFi 7 USB-BE92 adapter has also been launched, enabling users to add WiFi 7 connectivity to their existing PCs.
New high-end power supplies
Finally, ASUS presented two new power supplies, the ROG Thor 1200W Platinum III and the ROG Strix 1000W Platinum. These power supplies are designed to offer high energy efficiency and compatibility with ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.0 standards, with advanced features to ensure stable performance and efficient cooling.
