The much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6, Fold 6 and Galaxy Ring are set to launch at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event in July. While some speculation suggested that we might see Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2400 chipset at the helm of the new foldables, a pair of new Geekbench GPU test listings reveal that it will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 “for Galaxy”.
The Galaxy Z Flip6 appeared with model number SM-F741U and ran Geekbench Compute tests under the Vulcan and OpenCL APIs. The device scored 15,084 points on the Vulkan test and 14,325 points on the OpenCL test. Most importantly, the Vulkan test confirms the presence of an eight-core CPU with a base frequency of 2.26 GHz and an Adreno 750 GPU, which corresponds to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Made for Galaxy.
Galaxy Z Fold6: Android 14 and 8 GB RAM
The Z Fold6 runs Android 14, presumably with One UI 6.1 and Galaxy AI on top. The device also boasts 8GB of RAM, which is a little odd given that even mid-range Galaxy phones now come with 12GB of RAM.
Leaked renders of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 show a similar design to its predecessor, with a larger outer screen and improved camera module. The official launch of Samsung’s new foldables is expected to take place in July, bringing significant improvements in performance and functionality over the previous generation.
